Communisis is in the business of marketing services. We optimise marketing activities by adding value to customer and prospect communications, online and offline. We work with our customers on the planning, creation and delivery of their marketing communications and POS material.


Your role

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join us at Communisis in our  Schwalbach office. As a Purchasing Manager you will source marketing materials for Project Managers that meet our client needs whilst delivering best value for Communisis


Your responsibilities:

  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of approved supply base by spend category and by geography
  • Work with Strategic Sourcing to identify and on-board new suppliers and to deactivate redundant suppliers
  • Select the most appropriate sourcing method [e.g. e-Auction/RFQ]
  • Create and issue RFQ to suppliers based on a selected shortlist influenced by capability and suitability
  • Issue RFQ via most appropriate method / system (incl. IQ, Curtis Fitch)
  • Deal with vendor queries and validated returned quotation material
  • Run e-Auction event(s)
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain best outcome for Communisis, considering total cost of ownership rather than only by price
  • Consider the best outcome for Communisis based on the client commercial model that will prevail for the job
  • Select vendor and agree Critical Path Schedule with them
  • Ensure BPC team place order with supplier
  • Monitor supplier performance (incl. through any prototyping), locally and in aggregate, so that this can be taken in to consideration in future buying decisions.

What you’ll bring

  • Commercially minded with a track record of delivering strong results
  • Experience of sourcing and negotiating with suppliers
  • Understanding of modern sourcing tools and techniques
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing communications portfolio
  • Proven experience of managing or working successfully with multiple stakeholder groups and/or locations
  • Naturally inquisitive, and challenging – looking at new or better ways of delivering excellent results
  • Strong team working ethos, knowledge sharing and stakeholder collaboration
  • Strong influencing skills, through both written and verbal mediums
  • Able to understand business priorities and client needs to develop appropriate sourcing plans and outcomes
  • Able to consider a wide range of factors in decision making
  • Understands Value vs. Cost – operates to a TCO model and can evaluate cost element
  • Fluent in English and German
