Our client is a leading automotive parts manufacturing company servicing every major OEM around the world.

With over 100 years of experience, today the company has a strong established manufacturing network of strategically located engineering, technology and production facilities globally. The company operates in 12 countries across 5 continents.

Due to the fact that the company is restructuring their Global Finance & Accounting organization, the company has decided to start a search for a

Bilanzbuchhalter - Global Accountant

to be based at the Global HQ in Germany.

Role:

The role will report to the Accounting Manager – Global Accounting as well as work very closely with the Finance & Accounting Teams at each of the Plants throughout the globe.

Duties:

Global Accounting Close:
  • Prepare journal entries related to assigned functional responsibilities
  • Perform the day- to-day general ledger accounting and analysis for corporate ledger and other holding company ledgers
  • Ensure Corporate general ledger data is properly uploaded to the reporting system
  • Record Corporate statistical cash flow roll forward data
  • Intercompany matching process
Account Reconciliations:
  • Analyze assigned Corporate balance sheet accounts for accuracy and post adjustments, as needed; prepare account reconciliations for same balance sheet accounts
Accounting Support:
  • Assist plant locations with accounting issues or financial data upload concerns
  • Act as primary contact person to resolve various accounting issues; assist Corporate Finance staff with questions and concerns
Global Consolidation:
  • Work closely with plant locations on a monthly basis to assist in timely and accurate financial data uploads to consolidation software system
  • Ensure intercompany transactions have zero net financial impact at a global consolidated level
  • Analyze financial results by plant location as well as the global consolidated level; review variances from budget and forecast to ensure accurate results
  • Assist plant location personnel with any SAP or Hyperion questions, as needed
  • Gain an understanding of differences between local statutory and IFRS accounting and ensure that adjustments are made so that consolidated financial results are in compliance with IFRS accounting
  • Research complex, unusual, and/or infrequent accounting transactions and advise management of proper accounting treatment
Special Projects:
  • Perform analysis or other support in varied capacities as needed

Profile:

Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree, plus 3 - 5 years of hands on experience in General Accounting functions.
  • Strong Microsoft software skills, especially Excel
  • SAP and/or Hyperion experience a plus
  • Consolidation accounting experience a plus
  • Experience with foreign currency accounting transactions a plus
  • Highly desirable for individuals currently in or with past experience in Audit / Advisory Services firms. IFRS and / or US GAAP experience is preferred
