Our client is a renowned European manufacturer of automation technology and robotics. Due to its great success and rapid expansion in Asia, we are now searching for a Procurement Manager for the newly established production plant in Suzhou.
Procurement Manager - Machinery and Automation Industry – Suzhou, China
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the sourcing, purchasing and supply chain management of the factory
- Manage and lead the purchasing team to ensure timely and cost efficient purchasing
- Developing and directing all sourcing and purchasing policies and practices, develop supplier, assess supplier quality and reduce purchasing costs
- Manage supplier relationship and performance, create measurements and indicator to monitor the economic health, operating systems, capacity and contract performance of each supplier to assure that cost, quality, delivery and service expectations are met
- Local sourcing for transfer projects: Lead purchasing team to quickly localize the necessary parts and components for products/production lines transferred from other countries to Suzhou
Requirements:
- University degree in Engineering or in Business Administration or related subjects.
- At least 3 years experience in purchasing of mechanical and electronic parts in China and at least 2 years experience as Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain Manager, preferably in the automation equipments or mechanical engineering industry
- Work experience with western companies or in western countries
- Good negotiation, presentation, interpersonal and cultural skills
- Business oriented, team player with leading capabilities
- Excellent skills in English, both speaking and writing
- Experience with the localization of parts and components (local sourcing) for transferring production from foreign countries to China is a plus
