based in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
 
Job description

In this varied and interesting role, you will work with European Key Account Business Managers (from both EKAT Corporate and the regions), Specialty & Industrial Product Management teams (who manage relationships with strategic pan-European suppliers).

You will have direct contact with customers and suppliers, as you become involved in the creation and implementation of B2B process optimization projects between Brenntag and its business partners with the help of electronic data interchange (EDI). You will have the responsibility to manage these projects and to act as the interface between our business partners and the IT functions.

The objective of the Brenntag Europe EDI strategy is to offer Customers and Suppliers the same electronic business process capabilities across Europe (from order to invoice)

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Create effective project management processes and methodology
  • Analyze the business processes between Brenntag and its business partners in order to effectively recommend and enable an electronic B2B relationship
  • Present the benefits of electronic data interchange (EDI) to key business partners (customers and suppliers), including acceptance criteria and project deliverables
  • Directly manage EDI projects with customers and suppliers (This will include: project planning, cost control, development of solutions to business/IT challenges, identification of improvement opportunities, milestone review meetings)
  • Internally work with Corporate IT and the Brenntag regional IT teams, to successfully execute projects and to ensure effective cooperation between all involved parties, including external EDI platform providers
  • Become the GO TO person for business partners and internal Brenntag clients, for all B2B EDI solutions

 
Job requirements

You will have a university degree in business administration or business informatics, in addition to at least 5 years relevant work experience, which should include management of B2B EDI projects. You should have a solid understanding of business processes (including SAP), and have strong customer service skills and client facing experience. Due to the international nature of the job you will have a very good command of written and spoken English, in addition to at least one other European language. You should be a dynamic problem solver with excellent attention to detail. You should also be a strong team player with ambition, who enjoys taking charge of customer projects, working to demanding deadlines within complex organizational structures and using their own initiative.
