For the Munich office, Canadian Solar is seeking a

Legal Counsel (m/f)

The legal function provides world-class legal service that help Canadian Solar grow and achieve its business targets in the area of international selling of solar modules.
Key responsibilities may include:
Provides legal advice and solutions on general corporate law, commercial contracts and compliance related issues:
  • Handling of compliance issues regarding internal procedures and policies with the perspective to become Compliance Officer EMEA
  • Review and negotiate international sales contracts with customers
  • Develop and implement legal templates in the area of international sales contract
  • Support the coordination with management to ensure that all contractual matters are handled in a timely and efficient manner
  • This shall include legal advice in the area of
    • Commercial law
    • International sales contract on goods
    • Aspects of international payments
    • Claim and warranty issues
    • Litigation and arbitration issues

Requirements:
Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years of substantial experience practicing law
  • Law-firm experience is a must, in-house experience a plus
  • Good academic legal background

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; acute attention to detail, excellent analytical abilities;
  • Business acumen, including a well–developed understanding of business and commerce and the ability to diagnose and negotiate legal issues and present positive, creative solutions and alternatives

  • Proactive attitude, high initiative to take on challenges and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and develop individual competencies
  • High reliability and ability to work under pressure

Languages:
  • English fluently; additional languages are a plus
Technical Knowledge:
  • Good MS Office skills
