Position Description: In your area of responsibility you work as a senior system design engineer in our Technology Development Center in Düsseldorf as part of a cross-functional team in embedded software development of mobile network equipment. In this position you learn more about telecommunication and mobile networks including related technologies and protocols, are responsible for specifying, designing and reviewing specification related to your technical domain, write requirements, specifications and other guiding documentation for R&D from product / program / system point of view, execute technical activities and projects including reviews and relevant technical studies, contribute to project milestones by solving / avoiding most complex problems by understanding dependencies across product / system boundaries, support resource and program planning, coach other team members in solving advanced engineering problems at system component level, are part of a cross-functional agile software development team, where you closely interact with system verification and software design engineers, act as a proactive team player in an enthusiastic and powerful group of experienced engineers, contribute to continuously improve the quality of our products and our way of working. Position Requirements: We require that you have a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or other degree with strong software background, strong analytical skills and interest in requirement engineering, deep knowledge of Internet (IP) / Ethernet protocol stacks, experience with requirement engineering on system or network element level, knowledge of basic quality principles. Helpful would be technical expertise in the telecommunication domain, e.g. WCDMA/LTE, practical experience with protocols like Ethernet, VLAN, IPv4/IPv6, UDP/TCP, IPsec, know how in routing and switching, background in SW design and SW architecture, experience in agile development. You need to provide strong conceptual and analytical thinking capabilities, the ability to draw decisions in your own area of responsibility, strong team working skills, good communication skills, fluent communication skills in English, German would be helpful.
