Key Activities:
Key Focus
- Develop economic efficiency and affordability of our offerings on products and procedures to explain how our products fit into the economic plan of the payers and why they should consider them with high priority
- Prepare reimbursement tools for payer negotiations, new code applications, customer billing guides and funding mechanisms
- Develop reimbursement strategy and reimbursement tool set for negotiations with payers and providers
- Become expert of the reimbursement systems in the major European countries, knowing the impact on existing products and new products
- Cooperate with Clinical/Medical Affairs to conduct clinical trials/studies
General
- Act as advisor to Sales, Marketing, R&D and Medical Affairs, ensuring complete knowledge of health policy and of reimbursement factors is clearly understood in required business areas at appropriate points in product life cycle
- Monitor changes in local health care systems, summarising the situation and the impact for Olympus
- Describe our value proposition based on clinical, economic as well as features and benefits components
- Develop with Pricing Manager the value-based pricing for new products and revise existing one for new determined segments
- Develop price-value models for key products to support the benefit argumentation
- Be able to make recommendations upon product launches based on comprehensive knowledge of the reimbursement infrastructure
- Develop core value dossiers with clinical experts and key opinion leaders
- Build relationships with payers and government decision-makers, clinicians, local advocacy groups and hospital stakeholders
Sales Tools
- Develop economic models to demonstrate cost effectiveness and cost savings and “Willingness to Pay” (WtP)
Training
- Support and conduct training on the usage of economic models in front of customers (esp. providers and payers) to support the sales process
- Train with Medical Affairs on “How to sell clinical value in an economic environment” (clinical excellence and health economics)
- Support events with key stakeholders
Research Triangle Execution
- Conduct economic outcomes research with Medical Affairs Manager to develop economic models for offering our value proposition
- Cooperate with Market Intelligence to monitor the health care market as well as the needs/unmet needs of health care professionals and other stakeholders and collect input for economic models
- Define the price for the value proposition based on the outcomes of the Research Triangle (= Value Triangle)
Market Access
- Monitor customers on Health Economy Organizations and economic demands needed to sell our products and solutions
- Monitor and analyse competitor activities in using economic models to position products in the decision-making process with non-clinical/clinical stakeholders
- Support Marketing and R&D in conjunction with market research to evaluate unmet needs of our customers (clinical as well as non-clinical)
- Support marketing and price management in the setting of the optimal price
- Work in close cooperation with affiliates to support pricing and reimbursement negotiations
Your Profile:
- Academic degree in Economics, Health Economics or Public Health
- Previous track record of working with reimbursement for medical devices or in the pharmaceutical industry with the experience of setting a market access strategy internationally
- Working experience in an international environment
- Proven track record in working with published clinical data and health economics
- Experience in creating economic/analytical tools supporting sales activities
- Excellent ability to analyse and problem-solve projects in a timely manner
- Experience in communicating complex concepts and situations to sales organisations and senior business leaders
- Experience in communicating with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) and another European language
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- High level of self-motivation, capability of working independently and reporting progress regularly
- Team player with social competence
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Willingness to move to Hamburg
