For our LOC Business Unit based in Zürich / Mannheim we are currently looking to recruit a:

System Lead Engineer - Automatic Train Protection (ATP) (m/f)

You will be responsible for the conceptual design of train control systems and their integration into our vehicles. Co-operating with suppliers and customers, you will implement engineering solutions taking into account national approval requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Define and develop the appropriate technical solutions to integrate the ATP system fulfilling the requirements
Prepare and define technical requirement specification for an ATP system according to customer requirement
Give technical support to our procurement network to guarantee the proper third party supply in the design and development of the requested ATP system architecture
Define and develop the functional, reliability and maintenance requirements
Design the electrical, mechanical, SW and HW interface
Set and prove the safety requirements of the chosen solutions
Define and develop the Integration of Human Machine Interface (HMI)
Define testing requirement and support the system installation and testing phase

Qualifications

University-level degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant professional experience
Solid knowledge of signal transmission and processing, preparing software requirements and test specifications
Several years of professional experience, ideally developing rail vehicles or rail traffic systems
System Engineering background preferred. Project Management experience an advantage
Fluent English and good spoken German are required for this position
Cultural awareness and team-working skills
Ability to work systematically and independently, taking initiative where necessary
Willingness to travel
